MY ARTISTS

Enrique Iglesias (Latin, International Male)
PANDORA:
Bailamus by Enrique Inglesias
Have you ever really loved a woman by Bryan Adams
Apologize by OneRepublic
You sang to me - Marc Antony
I have always loved you - Enrique Iglesias
LastFM:
You Rock me - Enrique Iglesias
Maybe - Jay Sean
Aint it funny - Jennifer Lopez
Breathless - Shayne Ward
Vuelve - Ricky Martin

The Beatles (Alternative Rock, International Males)
PANDORA:
I feel fine - Beatles
Penny Lane - Paul McCartney
Imagine - John Lennon
The Sound of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel
Run for your life - The Beatles
LastFM:
Imagine - John Lennon
Photograph- Ringo Starr
Something - George Harrison
Baba O'Reily - The Who
BlueBird - Paul McCartney

Normally, I enjoy Pandora a lot more than LastFM. However, this time around I felt that the recommendations made by LastFM were a lot closer to my search than the recommendations made by Pandora. When I did the Beatles search, both stations included songs by Paul McCartney and John Lennon. When I searched for Enrique Iglesias, none of the recommended artists matched.

Melanie’s artists…
Dierks Bentley – Country Artist
PANDORA
1. Settle for a Slowdown- Dierks Bentley
2. Something Like That- Tim McGraw
3. Good Directions- Billy Currington
4. Young- Kenny Chesney
5. Sideways- Dierks Bentley
LASTFM
1. The Heaven I’m Headed To- Dierks Bentley
2. I’m Still a Guy- Brad Paisley
3. Watching Airplanes- Gary Allan
4. People are Crazy- Billy Currington
5. Austin- Blake Shelton

Between Pandora and LastFM the stations started playing different songs, but there were the same artists. Both sites stayed in the genre, and played the music clearly. The recommendations were similar but never the same song.

Chevelle Franklyn- Gospel Reggae
PANDORA
1. Boom Shaka- Tack- Born Jamaicans
2. Trodding- Glen Washington
3. Doctor’s Order- Beres Hammond
4. Rock My World- Sizzla
5. I’m You- Leona Lewis
LASTFM
1. Number One- Chevelle Franklyn
2. Come to the Altar- Monty G
3. Hands Wave- Mr. Lynx
4. Never Seen- Jason Mighty
5. A Time for a Change- Katalys Crew

With Chevelle Franklyn and the genre of Gospel Reggae, I think LastFM gave more music that was along the same idea as Chevelle’s actual music. Again, I never had the same artist or song and all of the streaming music was very clear.

JARED'S ARTISTS....
Erykah Badu-(Neo-soul)
-Pandora Recommendations
-Next Lifetime by Erykah Badu
-Ex factor by Lauryn Hill
-Sweetest Thing by Refugee Camp Allstar
-Crown Royal by Jill Scott
-Apple Tree by Erykah Badu

-Last.fm recommendations
-Next Lifetime by Erykah Badu
-Closer by Floetry
-Feel like making love by D'Angelo
-Ex Factor by Lauryn Hill
-Brown skin by India Arie
-Bestfriend by Ledisi

For the neo-soul genre there are only so many well known artist, so for Pandora and last.fm they recommended the same artist and songs. I didnt know about Last.fm but i like the music it recommended. The actual website is a little bit more difficult to browse around. I feel Pandora is better for browsing unknown artist where as Last.fm is better for listening to specific songs. Pandora is more accesible but I may start using Last.fm more often.

GABE'S Artists...

Miley Cyrus

Pandora.com
Party in the U.S.A - Miley Cyrus
Dream- Miley Cyrus

LastFM.com

AUSTIN'S PODCAST

Lab resource: http://sic.conversationsnetwork.org/shows/detail3866.html-The speaker and publisher in this Podcast is Peter deCourcy Hero who is the former president of Community Foundation Silicon Valley (CFSV).
- The format of this video is a recoding that people can just hit the play button and listen to Mr. Hero considers how philanthropy is changing around the world, and the implications of such developments for online giving. also during this podcast he mentions what he thinks is missing as far as online giving goes in present time.
-This particular Podcast was updated last in October of last year, so evidently it does not update very often.
-On this web page, it say that this podcast is for the "conversations network." Also there is a list of people who have listened to and enjoyed the podcast. I believe this particular podcast is for anyone interested in how the Internet, a part of all our lives, is changing and adapting to the constantly changing world.
- Though I couldn't find an exact number of subscribers, every podcast had a list of people that have viewed the videos, and it appeared that there were many people who are subscribed to this podcast site. It is a non-profit organization which much of the proceeds go to the conversation network itself. -the particular publication that is linked above was made possible by Stanford graduate school of business, and the Center for Social Innovation.

http://sic.conversationsnetwork.org/shows/detail3862.html-

In this podcast, the speaker and Publisher Permal Shah who is the president of Kiva.Kiva is the world's first person-to-person micro lending website, this allows people to give directly to new entrepreneurs to help and benefit them with as amounts as small as $25.
-This Podcast is similar to the one above, Shah just talks about Kiva and their first big break, and how and who it benefits, in an Informational format.
-This podcast was also updated in October 2008, which indicates that both of these podcasts are not updated very often, or that since its just shy of a year old, they mnite be updated annualy.-This podcast was also inteded for the Conversations network, Which looks like accrding to the page is a lot of stanford graduates and former students that are in various fields. However is not limited to the public so i believe the intended audience is again, anyone intersted in the prgression of the online world.
-Since this Podcast was on the same website, i again had difficulty finding the exact amount of prescribers to this non-profit organization, however to join is free, and you may donate as you desire.
-Since both of these are non-profit there really isnt any commercial sponsors other that of the Stanford graduate school of business, and the Center for Social Innovation.
